Five more Blue & Gold Academy players hoping to achieve England ambition after being selected for U17 Roses trials

Five more promising young Team Bath Netball Academy players are in contention to represent England at age-group level this season after being selected to trial for the Roses’ U17 squad in December.

Giselle Burnett, Sophie Hamilton, Daisy Harrison, Charlotte Steer and Isabella Valeur-Adu received the news just days after fellow Blue & Gold rising stars Rosie Bartlett, Molly Hole, Lily Jones and Isla May were selected for U19 trials.

Burnett is a talented mid courter from Hampshire who plays at C/WA for Weston Park Blades and attends The Sixth Form College, Farnborough. She is a member of Team Bath’s new Wiltshire Academy Development Centre (ADC) based at Bishop Wordsworth’s School in Salisbury. Last year Burnett also played a key role in Team Bath’s U17 Academy.

Both Hamilton and Valeur-Adu, who play GK/GD and WD/C respectively, attend the Somerset ADC at Millfield School where they are both students. Valeur-Adu plays club netball for Team Jets in her native Jersey and was a dynamic defender within Team Bath’s U17 Academy last season, while Hamilton showcased her defensive skills for the Blue & Gold’s U19s during 2019-20.

GD/GK Harrison and GA/GS Steer are both coached at the Exeter ADC based at The Maynard School. Exeter College student Steer, an exciting circle attacker who plays for Teignbridge Titans, was part of the U17 Academy squad last season, while Harrison plays for North Devon Titans and attends Pilton College.

Trials for both the England U17 and U19 squads have been rescheduled for December 19-20, after which the final selections for the 2020-21 season will be announced.
