An exciting future and a celebrated past

Team Bath Netball has a rich history of being at the forefront of high-performance netball in the UK.

Team Bath Netball were one of the founding members of the Netball Super League and, for more than 20 years, the netball programme based at the University of Bath has led the way in developing high-performance netballers who have gone on to achieve unrivalled success both domestically and internationally. As netball in the UK begins its new chapter, transitioning towards professionalism, we are delighted that the Blue & Gold legacy will continue to live on as Team Bath Netball remain the custodians of England Netball’s Player Pathway in the southwest region – including representation in the U23/feeder league, a newly-formed league underpinning the Netball Super League.

The University of Bath’s continued involvement in elite netball stems from a proven track record of delivering a high-performance environment in which young netballers thrive whilst pursuing their athletic – and academic – dreams.

The primary aim of Team Bath Netball’s Player Pathway, and the supporting network of Athlete Development Centres, is to inspire and develop players with potential to learn, develop and progress into senior domestic and international netball. Our long-term vision is to elevate the reach and success of the pathway, and to bring about the return of elite netball to the southwest region.

With access to world-class facilities, high-quality coaching, and a range of supportive programming and services aimed at developing players holistically, the Team Bath Netball Player Pathway and Development programme is set to continue to develop the region’s – and country’s – best netballers, and prepare them for future success on court.

We are excited to share with you our Programme structure for the 2024-25 season

The Team Bath Netball Player Pathway encompasses competitive squads that compete in the National Performance League (NPL) and additional Player Development Programmes (PDPs), aimed at supporting a wider group of athletes as part of the pathway (PDP groups will still have playing opportunities during the season).

Supporting the foundations of the southwest Player Pathway is a network of Athlete Development Centres, aimed at providing young athletes right across the southwest with direct access to our elite training environment, as they prepare for their next steps in netball.

For more information about the Team Bath Netball Player Pathway and Development Programme, please email tbnfutures@bath.ac.uk.

Access to our NPL teams (U23/U19/U17/U15), our Player Development Programmes (PDPs) and our Athlete Development Centres are via an open trial process, underpinned by our selection policy (please click here to read).

The trial process for our U15 team will take place in January 2025 – more info to follow. The 2024-25 trials application window for all other age groups has now closed.
