Best result yet for Team Bath Netball at School Games as talented U15 squad win brilliant bronze

Team Bath Netball’s U15s produced the club’s best-ever result at a School Games as they won a brilliant bronze at the 2022 tournament following a series of sparkling performances in Loughborough.

Sascha Dale, Amalia Eneanya-Bonito, Camille Collins, Molly Gibbs, Mae Haines, Sophie Lock, Zoe Maynard, Phoebe Moloney, Olivia Pitt, Lily Rutland, Madison Sims and Martha Vujicic made up the talented 12-strong squad that won five of their seven matches over the weekend.

The Blue & Gold were in fine form from the off, winning their opening Pool B match 38-5 against Sirens. They then beat Saracens Mavericks 24-14 before a 28-15 victory over hosts Loughborough Lightning completed an excellent first day.

Team Bath made it four from four by beating North East 33-23 on Saturday morning and, despite a 31-18 defeat to Surrey Storm in their last group game, they progressed to the last four as group winners on goal difference.

London Pulse proved too strong in the semi-finals, winning 34-17, but Team Bath bounced back brilliantly in Sunday’s bronze-medal match to beat Storm 28-23 and finish third overall.

Academy Head Coach Natalie Roddy, who was supported by assistant coach Chantelle Cox and team manager Kelly Browne, said: “This has been an amazing experience for our players. We are delighted to have secured bronze, our highest-ever placing, but we are even more delighted with the journey the players have been on. They have shown such growth and development, not just across the weekend but also through the preparation for the competition.

“We are really proud of all of the U15s who have been part of the programme”

The medal-winning players all came through the Blue & Gold’s athlete development programme, which has training centres across the South West and is supported by Team Bath Netball’s principal partner Haines Watts. Click here to find out more.
