The future of Elite Netball in the South West: A message from Team Bath Netball

At Team Bath Netball, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our supporters and partners. Your continued backing means the world to us, especially during what has been a challenging period for our club and the wider netball community in the South West.

In true Team Bath spirit, we’ve continued to deliver top-tier netball through the NXT Gen League and remained fully committed to the England Netball Talent Pathway. These initiatives have allowed us to showcase the next generation of netball stars and maintain a vibrant netball presence in the region.

A vision for the future

Our ambition to return elite netball to the South West has never wavered. To bring this vision to life, we’re establishing a new independent Board – a dedicated group of individuals with the skills and expertise needed to build a compelling business case, secure vital funding and lead the way toward launching a new NSL 2.0 franchise. The Board will focus solely on this future-facing mission: bringing professional netball back to our region.

Continued support from the University of Bath

The University of Bath has been part of the Team Bath journey since the beginning and continues to support the goal of returning top-flight netball to the region. While the governance and financial requirements of a professional sports franchise don’t fully align with university processes, the University has pledged its support for the formation and development of an independent franchise entity. We want to reassure everyone that while we pursue this exciting new chapter, Team Bath Netball remains fully committed to running the Talent Pathway. It’s business as usual for our day-to-day programmes, teams, and initiatives.

Applications are now open for the new Team Bath Netball Board

We are looking for individuals with expertise in areas such as:

  • Commercial strategy;
  • Communications and media;
  • Performance;
  • Governance and Legal.

The recruitment process will be open and transparent, and we would love your help in spreading the word. If you know someone with the passion, drive, and relevant skills, please encourage them to apply.

For more details about the positions and how to apply, please click here. The closing date for applications is Monday 21st July 2025 and interviews for short-listed candidates will take place in the week commencing 4th August.

We hope this update reaffirms our commitment to the sport and the wider region as we move to build a future as strong and vibrant as our past.
