Blue & Gold head to Wales for Celtic Dragons showdown as 2022 Vitality Superleague play-off race continues to heat up

Team Bath Netball begin a crunch week in their push for a Vitality Superleague play-off place as they head to Wales to face Celtic Dragons in their penultimate away fixture tonight (7pm centre-pass).

The Haines Watts-sponsored Blue & Gold go into the match still fourth in the table but only on goal difference following Saracens Maverick’s 54-50 win against Surrey Storm on Saturday. Mavericks also suffered a narrow defeat to league leaders Manchester Thunder on Sunday.

Team Bath were 59-43 winners when they met Dragons at the Team Bath Arena in March but the Welsh club have been in good form in recent weeks. Tonight is their fifth successive home fixture at the Sports Wales National Centre and while they have only won one of the previous four – a 57-51 victory over Severn Stars – they lost the other highly-competitive fixtures by just four, three and one goals.

After tonight, Team Bath have just two fixtures remaining – Friday’s home fixture against Wasps and what could be a decisive last-day visit to Mavericks.
