Team Bath Netball win silver and bronze at 2024 NPL Tournament in Nottingham

Team Bath Netball’s age-group sides ended the 2023-24 season on a medal-winning notes as they bagged silver and bronze at the 2024 NPL Tournament in Nottingham.

The Blue & Gold U21s enjoyed an excellent competition, winning three of their four group matches and then overcoming London Pulse 32-29 in a high-quality semi-final. They then went goal for goal with Loughborough Lightning in the first half of a hard-fought final and while their opponents eventually pulled away to win 38-23, it was a superb silver for Team Bath.

The U17s were also on the podium after winning bronze, inspired by a Player of the Tournament performance from Ana De Wet. Team Bath again won three of their group matches and were narrowly edged out 37-37 by London Pulse in the semi-finals before beating Manchester Thunder 45-33 in the third-place play-off.

It was a weekend of fine margins for Team Bath’s U19s who lost their opening match by one goal and drew another of their group fixtures. That meant they contested the seventh-place play-off, where they were defeated 37-25 by North East Phoenix.

Team Bath Netball are now turning their attention to the 2024-25 season and encouraging talented young players from across the South West of England to register for trials as they prepare to move forward with an exciting new Player Pathway.

The Blue & Gold will field seven competitive age-group squads, ranging from U15s through to the newly-formed U23 Feeder League which will support the relaunched Netball Super League. They will also continue to provide local top-level coaching to nearly 200 aspiring netballers aged 14-18 through the club’s Athlete Development Centre (ADC) network, hosted in 10 locations across the region from Gloucester in the north to Cornwall in the south.

Players must register an expression of interest by 5pm on Monday 12th August 2024 and successful applicants will be invited to trials during September. For more information about eligibility and to register an interest in trialling, visit netball.teambath.com/trials.
