Storm abated as Pulse await in close table

It’s all getting very tight in this season’s Vitality Netball Superleague with Team Bath due to face London Pulse Monday night at the Team Bath Arena (19.30).

Team Bath, back closer to full strength after recent illness and injury, reversed the tables on Surrey Storm on Friday with an impressive 41 – 66 away win to move into fourth place but still tied on 18 points with Mavericks in fifth and Storm in sixth – although the latter have a game in hand.

Leeds Rhinos, Team Bath’s opponents on Sunday 17th April, during the Spring Showdown in Birmingham, have 15 points in seventh but have a game in hand.

Despite Thunder and Lightning forging ahead at the top of the table, this is the kind of league predicted by Head Coach Anna Stembridge at the very beginning when she said:  “This could be the closest Superleague yet”.

Stembridge wants her team to continue their consistency across four quarters and move the ball well in the attacking third.

On Friday against Storm, the Blue and Gold stamped their authority from the outset winning the first quarter 15-11 and then following up with quarter-scores of 1611 and 13-11 before piling on the pressure in the final quarter which they won 22-9.
