Fit-again Daisy Harrison enjoys winning NXT Gen League debut as Team Bath Netball record Easter Saturday victory at Cardiff Dragons

Team Bath Netball began the second half of the inaugural NXT Gen League season on a winning note as they recorded a 59-44 away victory over Severn rivals Cardiff Dragons on Easter Saturday.

It was an excellent response to the previous week’s defeat at table-topping Loughborough Lightning, with the Blue & Gold quickly settling into their rhythm as they opened up a 16-12 lead after the first quarter.

The gap remained at four goals at half-time but Team Bath then began to pull away, stretching their 29-25 advantage to 45-36 going into the final quarter. There was no let-up in the closing 15 minutes as Team Bath registered their biggest margin of victory so far this season.

Shooter Katherine Mansfield, who converted 44 of her 47 shots, was once again Team Bath’s Most Valuable Player and there were 25 turnovers among nine players, highlighting the team dynamic of the victory.

It was also a notable occasion for defender Daisy Harrison, who made a big impact from the bench on her NXT Gen League debut having worked hard on rehab all season after rupturing her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) more than a year ago.

Team Bath will look to build on this result on Friday (25th) when they welcome London Mavericks to Clifton College’s Chellaram Sports Complex for a second home fixture in Bristol. A handful of tickets remain on sale and are available by clicking here.
