Spotlight on… Ellie Ervine – ‘fearless’ mid-courter reflects on her rise through the Team Bath pathway to Super League squad for 2024

Dynamic mid-courter Ellie Ervine has made the step up from Team Bath training associate to full squad member for the 2024 Super League season.

We caught up with the University of Bath placement student to find out more about her rapid rise…

  • How do you feel being selected for Team Bath’s Super League Netball team for the first time?

I am really grateful for this year, I think it’s a massive opportunity and one that I wasn’t quite expecting to come so early on, but I am ready to jump into it, and to get stuck in.

  • What are your goals for the upcoming season?

I think just building with this team. We are such a young squad, and we have a lot of learning to do both as a group and as individuals, so I think just coming together as a team and supporting each other through the whole season is one of the main goals.

  • Having progressed from Team Bath’s Performance Pathway and playing for the University, what is it like training now with the Super League squad?

It is really exciting! There are players in the Super League that I have looked up to for a long time and there are also players that, over the years, have become my friends and so having the opportunity to play alongside them is incredible and it is something I am really grateful for.

  • What are you most excited about this season?

Probably getting on court with the players that have been my role models and playing against people that I have also been looking up to my whole life. I think there are going to be many new experiences, as well as a lot of learning for me this season, so I am really excited to just get stuck in.

  • As well as Super League, you are on a one-year placement at Bath Rugby as a Physical Performance Coach. How are you finding it?

Really good, I am really enjoying it. It is something I have wanted to do for a long time, so it’s great that I can do that alongside playing in the Super League.

  • What can a Team Bath fan expect from your style of play?

I am quite a quick player. I enjoy pushing my body and I enjoy playing quite fast, but then I also enjoy bouncing off other players. I like to have fun when I am on court which I think adds a bit of fearlessness and a touch of flare into my play.
