Blue & Gold star Imogen Allison named in Vitality Roses squad for 2023 Netball World Cup in South Africa

Team Bath Netballโ€™s Imogen Allison has been named in the England squad for the 2023 Netball World Cup, taking place in South Africa from 28th July to 6th August.

It will be a first senior World Cup for the dynamic mid-courter, who helped England win bronze at the World Youth Cup in 2017.

Allison has won 28 senior caps since making her Vitality Roses debut in 2020 and was a standout performer on her previous appearance at a major tournament, the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games last summer.

She is joined in the 12-strong squad, announced today by former Team Bath player and Head Coach Jess Thirlby, by ex-Blue & Gold Super League defenders Layla Guscoth and Geva Mentor, the latter making a record-equalling sixth Netball World Cup appearance. Sophie Drakeford-Lewis – who, like Allison, is a University of Bath alumna – has been named as a travelling reserve.

England have been drawn in Group B and will face Barbados, Malawi and Scotland in Preliminary Stage One.
