VIDEO: Watch highlights as Team Bath Netball go down battling at defending Super League champions Manchester Thunder

Team Bath Netball will once again take plenty of positives from Friday’s contest against defending Netball Super League champions Manchester Thunder, despite the 76-57 final scoreline in the home team’s favour.

A high-energy start from both teams set the tone and it was end to end for the first 10 goals but a key interception from goal-keeper Josie Huckle changed the flow and gave Thunder the chance to score seven goals without reply.

The gap remained at 19-12 going into a second quarter which saw strong defending from Caroline Mtukule and Jayda Pechova ensured Haines Watts-sponsored Team Bath put Thunder under plenty of pressure. Just a couple of goals separated the sides over the 15 minutes and the visitors continued to harry and hustle their opponents during a well-contested third period.

Errors crept into Team Bath’s play in the fourth quarter and clinical Thunder took full advantage to win it 21-14, stretching their final margin of victory to 19 goals.
