‘Endeavour and attention to detail’ rewarded as Blue & Gold star Rachel Shaw is named Rengen Player of the Month for May

Influential attacker Rachel Shaw has been named as Team Bath Netball’s Rengen Player of the Month for May.

The wing-attack has been a key figure for the Blue & Gold on and off the court for the past few years and her consistently excellent performances during May were capped with a first player of the match award of the season following Saturday’s impressive win against Strathclyde Sirens.

After the match, Team Bath Superleague Head Coach Anna Stembridge said: “I think Rach has been outstanding for the last few games, her endeavour and her attention to detail with the feeds has been excellent.”

Shaw, in her ninth season with the Blue & Gold, is also coach of the University of Bath netball high-performance programme.

Coaches Stembridge, Jo Vann and Natalie Roddy select the player of the month based on contribution both on and off the court and the award is provided by Rengen, one of the Blue & Gold’s backers and overall sponsor for Team Bath. Previous winners this season have been Tash Pavelin (February), Sophie Drakeford-Lewis (March) and Imogen Allison (April).
