Blue & Gold legend Stacey Francis has a shot at Suncorp Super Netball glory after helping West Coast Fever to Grand Final in Australia

Team Bath Netball legend Stacey Francis played an inspirational role as she helped West Coast Fever reach the Suncorp Super Netball Grand Final in Australia for a second time in three years.

Francis, a University of Bath Hall of Fame for Sport inductee, was in outstanding form alongside fellow defenders Courtney Bruce and Jess Anstiss as Fever raced into a 21-12 lead after the first quarter of their preliminary final against Sunshine Coast Lightning.

There was no way back into the game for Lightning after that as Fever ran out emphatic 73-59 winners to set up a trophy showdown against Melbourne Vixens on Sunday, October 18 (4am BST).

It is an exciting end to a prolonged netball season for Francis, which began 12 months ago when she lined up for Team Bath – the club where she won five Superleague titles – in the 2019 Fast5 All-Stars competition.
