Blue & Gold to start 2020 Vitality Superleague campaign in front of record-breaking netball crowd at Season Opener event

Team Bath Netball are set to play in front of the largest-ever crowd for a one-day event in UK netball history.

The 2020 Vitality Netball Superleague Season Opener will see all 10 Superleague teams take to Arena Birmingham on Saturday, February 22 and is set to draw more than 8,700 fans, exceeding that of the Vitality Netball World Cup final day in July 2019.

Team Bath play old rivals Loughborough Lightning in the fourth fixture of the day at 4.15pm.

Fran Connolly, CEO of England Netball, commented: โ€œIt has been a standout 12 months for netball in England and the anticipation for the upcoming season is really starting to build, which is evident from these fantastic ticket sales for a one-day event.

โ€œWe are putting a lot of focus into making the Vitality Netball Superleague fully professional and aim to make it the best womenโ€™s league in the country, so to see that the best ticket sales for a one-day event in our history is for our Season Opener event is extremely pleasing and means we are on the right track.โ€

Team Bath’s home Superleague matches are also proving to be a big draw, with the first game against Wasps already sold out. There are eight more opportunities to enjoy a game at the Team Bath Arena this season, though, including the visit of defending champions Manchester Thunder on Monday, March 30 (7pm) on a night when the Blue & Gold will also celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Superleague.
