Eboni Beckford-Chambers and Kadeen Corbin impress once again as England push World Champions Australia all the way

Team Bath Netball duo Eboni Beckford-Chambers and Kadeen Corbin strengthened their bids for Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games selection as they helped England push World Champions Australia all the way in the Quad Series on Monday.

Goal-shooter Corbin once again led the line with determination and flair, while Beckford-Chambers’ introduction off the bench in the second quarter helped England strengthen defensively and reduce a nine-goal deficit to three going into the final period.

Australia eventually went on to claim a 50-46 victory but England could take great credit for their performance at the Copper Box Arena, coming off the back of Saturday’s scintillating 64-57 extra-time win over New Zealand.

Beckford-Chambers, Corbin and their fellow Roses are now flying out to South Africa for the final match of the Quad Series on Sunday. The Proteas squad includes former Blue and Gold stars Lenize Potgeiter and Karla Mostert, who met up with their old team-mates when Team Bath took on New Zealand in a friendly last week.
