“Incredible honour” as Team Bath legend Eboni Usoro-Brown is appointed as Honorary President of England Netball

Eboni Usoro-Brown, one of Team Bath Netball’s and the Vitality Roses’ most decorated players, has been appointed as Honorary President of England Netball.

The appointment was confirmed at the 2025 England Netball AGM, held on Saturday 13th September, and comes as predecessor Joan Mills MBE reaches the end of her five-year term.

Eboni was an outstanding defender for both club and country, making her Team Bath Super League debut in 2006 and helping the Blue & Gold win four of their five Super League titles. She returned to the club in 2016, after a five-year spell playing professionally in Australia, and her last appearance for Team Bath was in the 2021 Grand Final, although wore the famous colours again in June 2024 for an All-Stars Celebration event.

A 15-year career with the Roses saw Eboni win 117 caps and compete in three Netball World Cups and four Commonwealth Games, famously winning a historic gold medal with England on the Gold Coast in 2018.

Off court Eboni has pursued a legal career, started a family, and provided commentary and incisive netball punditry for broadcast media.

“It’s an incredible honour to be appointed President of England Netball,” she said. “This sport has shaped so much of who I am, from a young girl finding her voice on the court, to an elite athlete representing my country, and now as a mother returning to the game with renewed purpose and a strong commitment to championing equity, visibility, and opportunity at every level.

“Netball is more than just a sport—it’s a community, a movement, and a platform for change. It has the power to unite, uplift, and open doors, not only for women and girls but also for the growing men’s teams who continue to enrich our sport.

“I’m passionate about building on this foundation to drive the game forward with purpose, courage, and ambition. Whether grassroots or elite, schools or community leagues, I want everyone in our netball family to feel seen, heard, and inspired. I’m excited to serve, to listen, and especially, to lead.”

Baroness Sue Campbell, Chair of England Netball, added: “We are very pleased to be welcoming Eboni as the new England Netball President and all look forward to working with her to drive our game forward.

“As a sport we are proud that we have over 3 million women and girls from diverse backgrounds playing netball but we are far from complacent and know there is still much more to do. Eboni has a lifetime of experience of the impact netball can have on girls and women’s lives. She shares our belief that netball provides a safe and inclusive space for women to be physically active, to build friendships and to develop confidence in their body and is passionate about using her platform to elevate our sport as we continue to deliver the Adventure Strategy.”

England Netball has also appointed its first Community Netball Ambassador with Sheelagh Redpath MBE taking up the role, who will be supporting Eboni as President.
