Team Bath Netball heading into May home run in positive mood after encouraging Super League displays on the road

A busy May featuring four home matches in as many weeks awaits Team Bath Netball, who are looking to build on two encouraging performances on the road.

Surrey Storm are the first visitors to the Team Bath Arena this Saturday (4pm centre-pass) before the Blue & Gold test themselves against the Super League’s top two, Loughborough Lightning on Friday 10th and Manchester Thunder on Friday 24th (both 7.30pm).

Team Bath will also play host to Strathclyde Sirens on Friday 31st, as well as visit Leeds Rhinos on Friday 17th, and they are determined to finish a season of development and learning with some positive results.

Asha Francis, Team Bath Netball Head Coach, said: “We have a good run of fixtures coming up and Storm is one of those games we will be targeting for a result.

“We’ve had two positive performances against London Pulse and Saracens Mavericks in the past couple of weeks. The level of fight and commitment shown by the players has been really impressive.

“We are making fewer mistakes, we are having fewer runs against us and we are putting ourselves in the mix which you have to do if you want to win matches. There is a definite sense that things are starting to come together.”

Team Bath flew out of the traps at Mavericks last weekend, racing into a 5-0 lead, before the hosts worked their way back into the contest to take a 15-11 advantage after the opening quarter.

There was nothing between the teams for the next two quarters, with Mavericks edging the second by one goal and the visitors winning the third 12-11 to stay within four going into the last 15 minutes. Mavericks were finally able to edge clear, eventually winning 53-44, but Team Bath could take a lot from their performance.

Tickets for Team Bath’s four remaining home matches are available online at netball.teambath.com/tickets.

Team Bath Netball is supported by Bath Building Society and Rengen Developments, who are both overall Team Bath Partners. Flyhawk supply Team Bath’s performance clothing and off-court apparel.
