Wales call on Team Bath Netball duo Poppy Tydeman and Lowri Windsor for Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games

University of Bath student Lowri Windsor and fellow Team Bath Netball player Poppy Tydeman have been named in the Team Wales netball squad for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.

Team Bath Academy and NXT Gen Head Coach Natalie Roddy will also be travelling to Scotland as Assistant Coach to Bath alumna Emily Handyside.

Selection in the Wales 12 continues a rapid rise for Sports Performance student Windsor, who has just completed her first year of studying, training and playing at the University.

The 19-year-old, who represented her country at last September’s Netball World Youth Cup in Gibraltar, only made her first NXT Gen League start for Team Bath in late March but made the wing-attack spot her own in the second half of the season with several standout performances and won the club’s Most Improved Player award.

Tydeman, who plays wing-defence or goal-defence, was the Team Bath Fans’ Player of the Year 2026 after enjoying a hugely influential season on and off the court. She made her senior Wales debut in November 2024 and has seven Test caps.

The Commonwealth Games will be the final competition for Head Coach Handyside, who is leaving the role afterwards to focus on her full-time career as Coaching Lead for UK Coaching. She has a long association with the University – as well as being part of the Team Bath Super League coaching team from 2008 to 2017, Handyside studied Coach Education and Sports Development and took a Masters in Education.

Sitting alongside her on the bench in Glasgow will be Roddy, who is both Academy Head Coach for Team Bath and joint head coach of the Blue and Gold’s NXT Gen League squad with Anya Le Monnier.

Windsor is the second Sports Performance student selected to represent their country on the netball courts at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, following Jayda Pechova’s England call-up. Former Team Bath player Imogen Allison is also in an England squad led by Anna Stembridge, who coached the Blue and Gold during two successful spells.

The latest selections mean that 13 athletes who study, studied or train at the University have now been confirmed as competing at Glasgow 2026, which runs from 23rd July to 2nd August. Visit teambath.com/Glasgow-2026 to find out more.
