Blue & Gold secure well-earned bonus point after pushing NXT Gen League title-chasers London Mavericks all the way

Team Bath Netball demonstrated their growing resilience as they secured a well-earned bonus point on the road against London Mavericks, only losing out to the NXT Gen League title chasers in the closing stages.

Saturday’s fixture came exactly a month since Mavericks won 58-47 at the Team Bath Arena and the hosts were back to full strength as several players returned from Super League stints.

However, Team Bath have also been boosted over the past month by players returning from injury and, with confidence high after beating Leeds Rhinos in their previous match, the visitors went toe to toe with their high-flying opponents.

The defence once again produced a strong display and wing attack Lowri Windsor outperformed a physical Mavericks wing defence as Team Bath deservedly took a 26-24 lead into half-time.

Mavericks were able to draw level by the end of the third quarter and took advantage of a slight performance dip from the visitors at the start of the fourth period to edge ahead. Team Bath kept battling, though, and Mavericks had to dig deep to see out a 55-51 victory.

While disappointed not to get over the line, finishing within five goals of their opponents meant Team Bath picked up a bonus point.

They now have a free weekend before visiting Birmingham Panthers on Saturday 9th May (12.30pm centre-pass). They then return to the Team Bath Arena for their last home match of 2026, against LexisNexis Dragons on Saturday 16th May. Centre-pass is 3pm and tickets, priced from £12 to £20, are available to purchase by clicking here.

Team Bath Netball are supported by Bath Building Society and Rengen Developments, who are both overall Team Bath Partners, and Bath Recreation LimitedFlyhawk supply Team Bath Netball’s performance clothing and off-court apparel.
