VIDEO: Team Bath Netball’s Mia Ritchie crowned queen of Sky Sports’ Silly Superleague Challenge

We’ll have to wait until May 7 before the 2016 Vitality Netball Superleague champions are crowned but Team Bath Netball can already boast one title this season, thanks to Mia Ritchie.

The Pocket Rocket was victorious when players from seven of the franchises, plus Sasha Corbin representing England Netball, took part in the Silly Netball Superleague Challenge on Sky Sports’ Gamechangers programme.

Mia’s first fun test was The Tower, where she and Loughborough Lightning’s Jade Clarke had to remove blocks from a jenga tower without it falling over.

It was eventually Jade who sent the bricks toppling, so Mia progressed to the final against Sasha, Manchester Thunder captain Sara Bayman and Surrey Storm’s Georgia Lees.

The champion was decided with a game of Twister. Sara and Sasha were the first players to go, meaning it was between Team Bath and Storm for the title.

And Mia was able to demonstrate the dexterity that makes her such a dynamic presence on court to be the last player standing – or balancing with her left leg in the air at least.

“It means the world to me to be champion!” she said. “It was really tough but I’m glad I won the game.”
