Team Bath’s home Superleague fixtures announced as tickets go on sale

Team Bath closed out their fifth title in the eight years since Superleague netball was born with a 62-56 win over Celtic Dragons in May of this year.

Today their home fixtures for the 2014 Superleague, starting in January, have been announced and tickets have gone on sale.

The 2014 Team Bath squad is not yet finalised but last year England captain Pamela Cookey, and England players Serena Guthrie and Stacey Francis were key players in the blue and gold line-ups.

Season tickets are being sold for the first time in recent years as the league has reverted to its more established format offering fans more league games and more home fixtures.

At Team Bath season ticket holders will benefit from a 25% discount on individual ticket prices and will enjoy reserved seating as well as fast-track, no-queuing options.

Team Bath will open up their title defence by hosting a visit to the University of Bath’s Sports Training Village (STV) from Team Northumbria on January 31st.

Their first televised home game will be a repeat of the dramatic 2013 final against Celtic Dragons, taking place on 3rd March.

Arch-rivals Surrey, coached by former Team Bath player Tamsin Greenway, will visit the STV on March 17th, again with the TV cameras present.  April’s encounter with Yorkshire Jets will also be televised.

Team Bath will close out their run of home matches in the league phase of the 2014 season with a fixture against Loughborough Lightning on Monday 7th April.

Pre-match entertainment will start at 7pm for all home games.

Team Bath head coach Jess Garland said: “It is fantastic to be able to offer more home games next season. That’s a great testament to our fans who gave us record attendances last year.

“We have a fantastic venue which can be expanded to meet demand so I would urge everyone to take a look at the fixture list and sign up now to see the team in action.

“It would be great to get a third back-to-back double.  We won in the 2006/7 and 2009/10 seasons.  I can’t promise the fans that we will do it again but we will be trying our best to add to our 2013 title”.

Details of the dates and venues for the Showdown phase will be announced later.
