Students’ Union Sport Weekly Update 20

In light of the Blues Awards last Wednesday, this has been a truly fantastic year for British sport in general, as well as a fantastic year for Students’ Union Sport.

We saw a home Olympics and Paralympics for the first time in 64 years, with many Bath based athletes featuring and indeed succeeding on the International stage. Within the SU, we also end the year with a National Championship winning Tennis Team for the second year in a row.

I would just like to take this opportunity to thank all of the club committees, staff and everyone else who I have worked with throughout the year. In particular, I would like to extend my gratitude to The Sports Department, Office Staff, as well as the Executive Committee – who in my opinion, have been one of the most functional committees for many a year. Without everyone’s hard work and dedication, the success we have witnessed this year simply would not have been possible.

I am confident that next year will prove to be even better for sport here at the University, as in Tom Janicot there is an individual who will work tirelessly to give each and every club the opportunities that they deserve.
