Explore a feast of sport at the Team Bath Gold Rush open day
A wonderful feast of free sporting activities are available when Team Bath hosts its Gold Rush open day at the University of Bath Sports Training Village on Saturday 23 June international Olympic Day.
Team Bath is the training base to some of the country’s top athletes, who are now making their final preparations to compete at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The facilities are also fully open to members of the public and they have the opportunity to find out more and enjoy a wide range of free sporting activities at the open day.
The open day runs from midday through to 4pm and includes the opportunity to swim in the 50m pool, attend badminton and tennis coaching sessions, use the gym or attend a fitness class all for free.
There is also an opportunity to have a go on the bobsleigh push-start track. Please note, this is for over-18s only and limited places will be available.
For netball fans, there will be a game between Team Bath’s Superleague and the Netball Talent League teams. The contest gets underway at 1.45pm.
There will also be a rhythmic gymnastics display.
And there’s also the annual Olympic Day Run, which is held around the world and at the Sports Training Village each year to mark Olympic Day. It’s a 3k run for under-16s and a 5k run for adults.
The run gets underway at 1pm, with enrolment between 11.30am and 12.45pm.
Entry is free, so be a part of it! Everyone who enters receives a free T-shirt to wear during the run and gets a certificate when they’ve finished the run.
