Ritchie makes winning start on senior England debut

Team Bath’s Mia Ritchie made her senior international debut as England ran-out 53-48 winners over Barbados at the University of Bath last night (Thursday).

The victory meant England wrapped up the three-game series following their earlier victory in the opening game in Birmingham on Tuesday.

The effervescent Ritchie, who is studying Sports Performance at the University of Bath, shone in midcourt for England in a side that also featured Team Bath team-mate Gemma Fletcher in defence.

It was also a game that saw former Team Bath player Tamsin Greenway collect her 50th England cap while University of Bath Sport and Exercise Science graduate Sara Bayman was named player of the match.

Team Bath return to action at home in the Fiat Netball Superleague on Monday 30 April when they take on Bayman’s current team, Northern Thunder.
