Free Team Bath Superleague preview opportunity

Netball fans can get an early opportunity to see Team Bath’s 2012 Fiat Netball Superleague team in action at a FREE Christmas launch event at the Team Bath Arena on Wednesday 14 December.

The Superleague begins in late January, but Team Bath’s 2012 squad will battle it out against an All Star team at the University of BathSports Training Village next month.

The game will be the centrepiece of a fun evening of activities on 14 December that will also include a raffle and pre-match and half-time entertainment.

Next season’s Team Bath squad will be announced shortly – and the final places are also still being determined for the All Stars line-up for the pre-Christmas friendly.

But the All Stars are due to feature Paralympic swimmer Kate Grey – a keen netballer and sister of Team Bath player Millie – along with England under-21 hockey player George Farrant.

And the All Stars will be no pushovers – they will also be able to call on the services of England netballers Stacey Francis and EboniBeckford-Chambers, who are due to spend the coming season playing in the ANZ Championships in Australasia.

Admission to the event is free, but it is being held in conjunction with the Mayor of Bath Relief Fund and guests are asked to givegenerously to help support the fund’s important work.

Jess Garland, Team Bath’s head coach, said: “We always say we’ve got the best fans in the Superleague so it’s fantastic that they’ll have this opportunity to watch our 2012 team for free ahead of the new season and to meet the players.”

Doors open at 5.30pm and the Team Bath v the All Stars game gets underway at 6pm.

Pre-match and half-time entertainment will be provided by singer/song writer Alexander Joseph – a talented local lad who could have a big future ahead of him.

After the game spectators are invited to a champagne and canapés reception at The Tramshed in Walcot Street, when there will be an opportunity to get to know your franchise better and to meet players from both of the teams.  The reception begins at 8.30pm.

And of course, you can also find out further details about Team Bath’s 2012 Superleague campaign.
