Team Bath seek Storm revenge in home play-off

Yasmin Parsons made her FIAT Superleague debut as Bath bounced back from Thursday’s home defeat to Surrey Storm with a 59-27 away win over Glasgow Wildcats over the weekend.

The win secured the defending champions a home tie in this month’s play-offs when they will once again face Surrey Storm.

Parsons came on at wing-attack in the third quarter. Interestingly, Kadeen Corbin, who also made her Team Bath Superleague debut just a few weeks ago, played at both goal-keeper and goal-attack for Team Bath in different quarters as coach Jess Garland tested various combinations.

Garland described her team’s victory as a “good building performance”. “To come away with a convincing scoreline whilst having rotated the full squad is really pleasing. Now we look forward to the challenge of the play-offs”, she said.

Team Bath were 12-8 up at the first quarter and 24-15 by half-time. Galrand moved Asha Tett to goal-shooter for the third quarter to play alongside Pamela Cookey after a solid first-half performance from Rosie Allison at goal-shooter.

Serena Guthrie moved to centre from wing-defence and Mia Ritchie was rested for a quarter before coming back for the final period with Team Bath 41-24 ahead. Captain Pamela Cookey and Eboni Beckford-Chambers were the only two Team Bath players to play all four quarters.
