Team Bath secure Superleague play-off place

Team Bath’s netballers have secured a place in the end of season play-offs of the Fiat Netball Superleague.

Saturday’s 52-49 victory over Leeds Carnegie, combined with a defeat for Loughborough Lightning, who are fifth in the table, ensured Team Bath will finish at least fourth in the Superleague.

Team Bath are currently third in the table and if they can finish third they will book a home tie in the first round of the end of season play-offs.

Team Bath return to action on Monday (9 May) with a trip to top of the table Northern Thunder and then are back in action at the Sports Training Village on Thursday 12 May with a crunch game against Surrey Storm, currently fourth. The pre-match entertainment gets underway at 6.45pm. The game will be shown ‘as live’ on Sky Sports.

Meanwhile, four Team Bath players featured for the England squad that took part in a three-match series against Jamaica in the Caribbean. Eboni Beckford-Chambers, Pamela Cookey, Stacey Francis and Serena Guthrie all saw action in the series.

England lost the series 2-1, but a crucial 54-51 victory in the final game was enough to ensure that England remain third in the world rankings. The tour was part of England’s preparations for the World Championships in July.
